We are going to create some beautiful pieces of artwork based on a combination of different techniques that I have been using lately. What makes these layouts truly outstanding is that there are a number of steps in this process, not to mention a number of layers in each piece.

This is more than just cutting and pasting as you will see in this workshop. I will show you how to start with a great background and then begin on the girls. I will show you how to free hand cut the girls dresses and then draw their bodies around the dresses. Then we’ll adhere the girls to the background and then the fun begins.

Through a series of steps I’ll show you how I use paint, collage, outline and even doodling to bring these girls to life. Finally we will add some final details and a few coats of protective seal. Although we will create these pieces on watercolor or other paper for the workshop, all of these techniques can certainly be applied to canvases and wood.

For those of you who may have some hesitation about cutting freehand and even color combinations – I have created some kits which include pre-cut dresses, and other great paper bits to complete these projects. These are available in my Etsy shop right HERE.
