Description
(PLEASE BE AWARE...THIS CLASS IS NOW A SELF GUIDED CLASS, MEANING NO ACCESS TO THE TEACHER. WE THOUGHT THIS A BETTER SOLUTION RATHER THAN RETIRING THE CLASS AND REMOVING IT ALTOGETHER. ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IS WITHIN THE CLASSROOM)

Join us in creating personal expressive jewelry pieces. Each student will create their own focal piece(s) that speaks to them, and then completes the piece with meaningful additions. Vintage photos, beads, and rosary, found objects and other symbolic items that represent the feeling you want your piece to have can add great meaning to your art. It is an exploration class culminating in a unique piece of meaningful art just for you wear and enjoy.

This class is for crafters of all kinds and levels. We use a soldering iron to create the bezel for our focal piece. The technique for creating it is simple and inexpensive, yet looks great and feels really good when filled with resin. The soldering effect is very forgiving, which is wonderful if you are just starting out in soldering or haven't soldered for a while. You can make many focal pieces in a variety of shapes and sizes.

In this class we will cover some jewelry basics....soldering basics as you watch me demonstrate soldering the bezel....inspiration....composition....resin mixing and pouring, image protection, imbedding objects and patina... Everything you need to know to successfully complete your Soulful Adornment.
